Remote, wild and poised on top of the Zambezi Escarpment is pristine wilderness of mountains, flood plains and seeps. Rivers and perennial springs have carved their way to the escarpment through valleys and gorges, creating spectacular scenery. Mount Tundazi (1371 m above sea level) dominates the landscape and is home to a legendary huge and powerful serpent

The Park supports a wide range of game; predators include lion, leopard and cheetah while elephant, a variety of antelope, buffalo and zebra are also resident. Armed Parks wardens are available to take you on wilderness trails, ideal for backpackers, and daytime walks during the dry season (April to October) although Chizarira is open all year.

How to get there: The route from Kwekwe through Gokwe is tarred all the way except for approximately 80 km of gravel to the Park Entrance. Alternatively take the tarred road to Binga from the main Bulawayo / Victoria Falls road. From Binga follow the gravel road for 110 km to the Park entrance.

Four-wheel drive vehicles are necessary to negotiate rough tracks within the Park.

Accommodation: Parks and Wildlife Management Authority operate lodges, exclusive camps and camping sites. There are some private exclusive lodges located in or near the Park.
