Wet summer months are from November to April. Dry winters are from May to August. Spring arrives in September when indigenous trees burst out in fresh new foliage and flowering shrubs are a blaze of colour. Summers in low-lying areas are hot and steamy, but on the central plateau and the Eastern Highlands temperatures are very comfortable. Beautiful clear sunny days are the winter norm throughout Zimbabwe. Heavy frost may occur over high ground.
