LOCAL CURRENCY

Zimbabwe is now using the US$ as its currency. US$ can be drawn out of ATM cash machines using both local and interlational bank cards. There are charges for the international service but it is minimal and probably better than carrying cash around with you all the time.

ATM cash machines can be found in Cities and most towns. However there are no (or very few coins) in circulation so for change you will have to settle for sweets, matches, pens and other small items!!. In the bigger supermarkets you can build up a credit which you can use next time you go to the shop.
