NATIONAL PARKS

Zimbabwe's National Parks, run by Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority, constitute the major part of wildlife protection areas. The Authority provides basic but adequate self-catering lodge, chalet, caravanning and camping accommodation within each park. Lodges are self-contained while chalets have shared ablutions. Helpful and pleasant Parks attendants service both.

Accommodation fees vary with each Park, grade and visitor status (ie international, SADC region and local.) All fees for every visitor regardless of status are payable in foreign currency.

Park entry fees per person (payable on entry) also vary with each Park and visitor status. Children under 6 years are admitted free; 6 - 12 years are half price.

Vehicle and trailer fees (also payable on entry) vary according to carrying capacity.

National Parks provides no transport to, from or in the Parks. Visitors would need to engage a safari operator or hire a car.
