Safety at tourist destinations in Zimbabwe ranks high, but take normal precautions. When walking, carry only the bare essentials. Cameras, jewelry, rucksacks and briefcases attract attention. Motorists would be wise to keep handbags, briefcases and cell phones concealed especially when stop/start driving in built-up areas.

Hitchhikers would take the normal risks, but if possible travel in twos and keep to the main roads.
